Idea:

As a developer with NO Java experience, I am really NOT interested in all those Help documents that are related to Java.

A simple search on 'documentcollection' returns the first 10 document related to Java. Maybe I am looking for just LotusScript related documents?

Please make my work more effective by having the option to restrict the results to the 'language' I am interested in !!

Idea:

I would like to have the option to turn of the 'no documents found' H2 tag for embedded views, this is extremely annoying if you use a page in combination with an embedded view to create an JS array.

I use it often in AJAX functionality in combination with the restrict to category function. The return of the 'no documents found' tagging is extremely annoying there then...

Idea:

organising workspaces pages are a crime nowadays.

why not have the option to set a workspace page as a default workspace page to be opened at startup?

this would avoid that I have to move my favourite databases at a moment to the first workspace page

Comment: I do think workspace's time is limited... I'm getting tired of using (well mostly replica management part. However I don't see how IBM can improve on it.

Comment: I don't know... then you need to make a difference between LotusScript and Formula as well. As Kerr indicates, "AND LotusScript" does the same.
Also, I'm not very much into Java myself, but I don't want to protect myself from seeing some Java now and then, perhaps it makes me want to use it more often if I see it more :-)

Idea:

from a view I would like the option to select a form that will be used as a template to display a view.

nowadays I can define $$viewtemplate default and for all the other views I need to create a separate $$viewtemplate for form.

in order to decrease the number of design elements, I would like to be able to select a template from the view properties which should indicate something like:

[x] use the following template for web display

the total option for a column (tab 2)is pretty useless when the optoin is set 'display values as icons'.

much better would be to be able to provide a formula in combination with a custom icon, selectable from a resource or something

Because IBM / Lotus wants us from a marketing perspective to call 'databases' 'applications' in release 8 I guess we may demand that the confusing @DbTitle must be renamed to something called @AppTitle

Comment: You can add another alias for views you want to use the same $$ViewTemplate.

E.g. name the view "A View Called Foo" then have alias "viewtype1|foo". then have another view "A View Called Bar" with the alias "viewtype1|bar". If you then create a from called "$$ViewTemplate for viewType1" then it will get used when you open either of the views.

Comment: @1 - I can understand *why* that works, but it's still a pretty messed up implementation. It needs to be made more transparent -- and documented.
