"IdeaSpaces" are used in IdeaJam to group similar ideas together. For example "Employee Benefits" is an IdeaSpace that will contain all ideas related to employee benefits programs while the "Sales Compensation" IdeaSpace has ideas related to improving a companies sales compensation program. IdeaSpaces are managed by a designated person or group.How IdeaJam Works
Let's take a quick look at how IdeaJam works. This won't take too long...- A user clicks on the "Submit your idea" button and enters their idea. They select an "IdeaSpace", a title, the idea itself, enter tags, upload an image and then save.
- Other users can provide feedback on the new idea by entering a comment and can also show their support for the idea by either promoting or demoting it. They could also click "No Opinion" which registers that they don't care one way or the other about this idea.
- Ideas can be filtered in several ways. IdeaJam shows recent ideas, popular ideas that have the most comments, ideas that have been completed, ideas that have been rejected, ideas that have been withdrawn as well as a view that shows all of the comments posted. Each of these views can be displayed for an individual IdeaSpace or for all IdeaSpaces.
- Statistics are also available and show the overall activity on IdeaJam.
- A search facility is also part of IdeaJam and can be used to search IdeaJam for words and phrases.
- Users can also search IdeaJam using it's easy to use tagging system. Simply go to the Tags page and click on a tag to see which ideas are tagged with a given tag.

Features
IdeaJam includes many features that make idea generation and promotion easy and fun:Tags – All ideas can be “tagged” with one or more tags. Users can then use tag clouds to see which tags are popular.
Statistics - View charts of Idea statistics including daily votes by IdeaSpace, number of ideas by IdeaSpace and many more.
RSS – IdeaJam provides RSS feeds for IdeaSpace's, a specific idea, a user or for any given tag.
Comments - Users can choose to be notified when new comments on their ideas have been posted.
What's Hot - You can see ideas that are popular in the last day, week or month each with a single click, administrators can even control the rules for "hotness".
User Profiles – Users can view their ideas, their comments, and the ideas they voted on.
Security - Administrators can configure groups of people who have access to edit each individual "IdeaSpace".
Views – Ideas can be viewed by popularity, recent ideas, most comments, recent comments or others. Each view also has an associated RSS feed.
Unvoted – Users can easily review ideas that they have not voted on.
