Earlier this month and as part of the Open Government Initiative the USDA launched an IdeaJam to share and collect ideas from US citizens. This site was set up by Elguji Partner Sean Burgess with ANSD Designs based in Laurel, Maryland.

Here you can provide feedback about published data, records, reports & resources provided by us as well as our Open Gov Plan. Let us know how we can improve the quality, value & usefulness of USDA information. Learn more about what we’re doing, discuss ideas by posting comments, and help us improve our programs & operations. If you’d like to post, discuss and vote on your own ideas, head over to the Share Your Ideas section.

My administration is committed to creating and unprecedented level of openness in government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collabortion. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in government.

Gravatar Image1 - Wow, Congratulations and a really nice website that is. I am a bit surprised that many idea jam sites seem to run the classic version instead of the XPaged one (and I even smelled jQuery goodness)!?
But anyway. Great to read and hear so many good things about Elguji and ideaJam.

Gravatar Image2 - Congrats Bruce and Sean. Site looks great and being public is really going to make things "interesting" for you guys in the days ahead Emoticon.

Gravatar Image3 - Yes, there is some jQuery in there on the Domino Blog side of the site. It was necessary to do the rating of the entries that the USDA folks wrote. So I guess I can put both jQuery and mooTools on my resume now. Emoticon

Gravatar Image4 - WOW - Congratulations on helping make an impressive tool that supports citizens efforts to be heard by the government. I hope this tool gets adopted by congress!!Emoticon

Gravatar Image5 - many congratulations to this win. a nice clean site....

I have to admit though that this morning I was too blind to find the main page Emoticon All I saw was the user name and password field on the right side and thought I am not going to register just to see the site.

However on my second attempt my eyes opened Emoticon and I saw the nice big blue . Start here. button Emoticon
