Elguji Announces IQJam
Industry’s First Question and Answer Community Software for XPages

Lotusphere Orlando, FL January 17, 2010 – Today Elguji Software, LLC announced the availability of their IQJam, question and answer community software for IBM’s Lotus Domino software powered by IBM’s XPages tool. IQJam is a solution for organizations looking to capitalize on the knowledge of their employees. The concept is amazingly simple - people ask questions and other people answer them. IQJam allows people to identify who the subject-matter experts are within an organization. It accomplishes this by keeping track of answered questions and associating them with categories or “IQSpaces” and Tags.

“IQJam is the most innovative Domino-based program we have ever implemented,” said Jeremy Petersen, IT Manager at Epic Aviation, LLC. “IQJam lets us harness the collective knowledge of our employees and quickly get answers to questions. We have implemented several successful projects and initiatives that without IQJam never would have happened.”

With support for XPages, IBM Lotus Domino 8.5.1 software customers can quickly and easily install and configure IQJam. Installation typically takes less than fifteen minutes. Customers are using IQJam to:

- Help departments develop and manage communities of practice.
- Improve help and support/service desk operations.
- Allow customers and/or partners to ask questions and receive answers about products and/or services.
- Eliminate the need for discussion databases.
- Develop self sustaining FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).
- Build knowledge bases.

“IQJam is the result of the ideas our customers posted on our IdeaJam site to have Elguji develop an enterprise question and answer knowledge system for the enterprise that was as feature rich and easy to use as our flagship IdeaJam idea management and innovation software”, said Matthew White, Chief Software Architect, Elguji Software. Elguji is demonstrating IQJam and its Lotus Award and IBM Beacon Award winning IdeaJam software at the Lotusphere 2010 Product Showcase Pedestal 622. Matthew White and Bruce Elgort, members of the IQJam development team will be presenting sessions at Lotusphere 2010 entitled “How to Build an XPages Application From Start to Finish” and “I’m a Programmer Not a Fire Fighter!”.

Elguji Speaks

Category lotusphere xpages notes domino best practices
Elguji's Matt White and Bruce Elgort will be speaking at the upcoming IBM Lotusphere 2010 event being held in Orlando, Florida January 17-21, 2010. Here is what they will be speaking about:

SHOW112 (Show and Tell) - How to Build an XPages Application From Start to Finish

Join IBM's Tim Clark and Elguji Software's Matt White as they take you step by step and click by click through building an XPages application. Learn the basics and then grow the complexity as you expand the application, including XPages, Custom Controls, server-side Javascript, single UI methodology, using existing Lotus Notes data and adding unlisted DOJO objects. Watch the application being built live on stage, with everything you need to know condensed into two hours.

BP205 (Best Practices) - "I'm a Programmer Not a Firefighter!": The Low Maintenance "Notes Shop"

Imagine having nearly 200 applications that you must keep afloat, yet spending less than 10% of your time on maintenance? Without these best practices, every application you build will steal away little bits of your time, until you reach the point that you are doing nothing more than maintenance. Epic Aviatons Tim Paque and Elguji Software's Bruce Elgort have learned many tricks over the years that will show you how to let your applications "leave the nest" and live without you, and help you turn off your pager and get your life back!

We hope to see you at our sessions.

Winner: Breakout Technology Award

Category ideajam elguji lotusphere award
At Business Development Day Elguji was awarded the "Breakout Technology Award" for IdeaJam:

"This Award will be presented to an IBM Business Partner who offers a solution that extends the software user experience by leveraging new technology innovations introduced into the IBM Lotus® and IBM WebSphere® Portal portfolio. These technologies must be new since Lotusphere® 2008, such as XPages, Live Text, Composite Application integration with the Sidebar, and the Portal Web 2.0 client. They provide IBM Business Partners and customers with the capability to integrate and blend heterogeneous applications and data in the context of the end user's role, transforming solutions into a single seamless work environment that boosts end user and organizational effectiveness.

Submissions for this Award should be solutions that leverage these new technologies to extend business application functionality based on contexts defined by end consumer requirements. Entries will be judged based on the overall business value they demonstrate, the extent to which these solutions leverage the technologies, and the ability to demonstrate how these enhancements boost end user and organizational effectiveness.

Elguji Brings IdeaJam to XPages

Industry’s First Lotus Domino XPages Application Now Available

Lotusphere Orlando, FL January 21, 2009 – Today Elguji Software, LLC announced the availability of their new release of IdeaJam, idea management software for IBM’s Lotus Notes and Domino powered by XPages.

IdeaJam provides companies with a place where people can post and share their ideas, and gauge the marketability, popularity and viability with voting and input from others. The latest version is the industry’s first application to offer full support for IBM Lotus Domino XPages, enabling businesses to use the most recent Web 2.0 technologies which scale better to support very large implementations of IdeaJam.

“IdeaJam is the most innovative Domino-based program we have ever implemented,” said Eric Lohry, president of Nutra-Flo Protein and Biotech Product, Inc. “IdeaJam lets us harness the creativity of our employees and quickly turn ideas into reality. We have implemented several successful projects that without IdeaJam never would have happened.”

With support for XPages, IBM Lotus Domino 8.5 customers can choose to run IdeaJam using XPages or classic Domino HTTP. Both ship in the same single template for backwards compatibility, which allows customers to run IdeaJam on whichever version of Lotus Domino they have installed. This support will allow Elguji customers to choose how they want to run their idea management process. All of the new features are part of the continuing, regular commitment of Elguji to provide the features and tools which its customers need to make the most of IdeaJam.

“The latest version of IdeaJam is the result of the ideas our customers posted on our own IdeaJam, said Matthew White, Chief Software Architect, Elguji Software.
Additional features in the latest version of IdeaJam include advanced search, reporting, web administration, idea archiving, custom messages and improved tag clouds, all features that have been requested by existing IdeaJam customers.

Blown away

Category lotusphere
It's been a while since we have posted anything on this blog and thought that it would be a good time to talk about a few things IdeaJam. At the top of the list is the amazing reception that IdeaJam received at Lotusphere 2008. Talk about viral marketing at work, whether it was during a session, BoF, Gurupalooza, Meet the Developers or at the bar - IdeaJam appeared to be talked about everywhere. We can't thank the community enough for their support of IdeaJam. Special thanks to Paul Mooney of Blue Wave Technologies for getting all of the people in his sessions to say in unison "put it in IdeaJam.net". Simply incredible. Thanks again Paul.

The development team has been working hard on the next version of IdeaJam which will include many new features such as internationalization, improved administration console, completely skinnable UI, improved Notes Client interface, improved user profiles, new statistics tools and much more. We will begin beta testing the new release very soon. This would also be a good time to let all of the companies that signed for beta testing know that they will soon have something very cool to test.

Customer demand for IdeaJam has also exceeded our wildest expecations. If you are interested in learning more about how you can use IdeaJam in your company please contact Gayle. She would be interested in learning more about your company and how it can benefit from installing IdeaJam either behind the company firewall or as a customer facing application.
