I'd like to have a drop down list which enables me to choose the signature I want added to the email. (or blog/forum post) Today I get around this by using my Paste Information application, but I'd rather have this integrated.
While editing an e-mail (or anything else for that matter), I would like [Paste Special...] added to the right-click menu for the mouse. I am frequently pasting from the web and other sources and need to remove the formatting.
[Idea comes live from a Paul Mooney and Susan Bulloch session a Lotusphere]
The administrator can restrict the size of attachments that can be sent using the server. The openNTF mail experience template enforces that limit at the client. It would be a good if the IBM mail template ...
When you open an email, whether received internally or externally it would be great if all the attachment/s were positioned in a pane at the top of the email (I believe Outlook does this and DWA does it but puts at the bottom which I'm ok with). I am sick ...
Just another old idea: create a mail, enter a date/time when the mail should be sent, click Send, the mail will stay in mail.box until it's time to release it, then the server (or client) to send it out. And of course a way to create such a mail in ...
it would be great to be able to see before I open an email if in a view/folder if a return receipt has been requested.
Side Note: I don't believe you should prevent return receipts from being sent, I just want to see clearly via an icon if a return ...
This would be similar to permanent pen, but you would not have have to turn it on/off.
Mac Mail.app makes this very simple. (as does Outlook I beleive)
If a user accidently deletes a folder which is very easy to do, allow them to restore from Trash, as they can with mail.
Rules are useful to manage incoming mails, but not for already existing mails in the mailbox. Therefore I would like to have the ability to use rules for already existing mails.
When receiving an e-mail with in-line image, you cannot save this image except from going into Edit mode, right-click, copy, go to your favourite image editor, paste and save....
Even performing a screenshot of your e-mail is faster!
Allow the search box to search in Mail db *and* Archives Mails dbs. See this for Mary Beth's answer.
In Microsoft Outlook/Exchange you have the option of saving messages outside of Outlook into your files system with your other documents (Word Documents, Spreadsheets, etc). You can then open up the documents and they open in Outlook/Exchange.
I would like Lotus Notes to be able to do the same ...
Spellchecking messages before they are sent is a great feature, but when sending out messages that contain URL links, the spellcheck process becomes tedious, especially if multiple URL links are in the message.
It would be fantastic if spellcheck could be configured to ignore text strings that begin with ...
Add the ability within an email to [easily] select an Identity for the mail to be sent from.
I know we can set up Locations to manage identities, but this could also involve the need to modify connection documents too, affects open document windows, and it takes too long to ...
I know... having Emoticons in Lotus Notes will start a looooong discussion ;-).
I think having Emoticons in Lotus Notes would raise the acceptance from the client. I often hear at my customers things like "and where did I find the emoticons... oh Notes doesn´t have... but outlook have"... ...
Many modern mail application such as Outlook give the user the option of reducing image sizes when emailing. This is a great way to reduce overall attachement sizes and mailbox storage needs.
I'm sure notes users from the countries who have to write letters in different languages will support my idea. I sugest to make possible to use more than one primary directory for spell cheking and to make spell checker switch between languages automaticaly. Here is an example I'm facing almost ...
Assume I have an email message open in its own tab. After reading the message, if I delete it, I would expect the tab to close and to be taken back to the inbox.
Instead, what Notes does is to delete the message but at the same time, in ...
Notes undo functionality needs significant improvement.
One of the areas where this is particularly obvious is around message management. If I delete a message or move it to a folder incorrectly (say by drag/dropping onto the wrong folder) then I have to go and manually retrieve/move it.
It would be nice to not need 5 or more location documents for all my emails.
While I can have one inbox, I can not have multiple outgoing email names/addresses from that one box, thus 5 different location docs/dbs, etc.
I can make personal stationery, but not personal email addresses?
