Idea:

When designing an agent that doesn't run on a view or selected documents, I want to save it and run it in a single step. I don't understand why I have to

save it,
go to the Agents list,
find my new agent,
right click on it,
click Run

Now, for gamers, this is might be pretty fun practice with the mouse, but I want to replace all that with a single button click, the way I can test out a new form, view, folder, page, or frameset.

If too dificult to enable the toolbar button, I'd like a button in the agent designer that is gray when the agent's target is selected documents or current view.

Idea:

The size of the Sent By field on the Out of Office config form s frustratingly small. I'd really like that field to be changed to expand dynamically so that I can see all of the email addresses I've entered.

ND8 Mail Template -> Out of Office configuration -> Exclusions Tab -> Sent By field.

Comment: Agreed - Another suggestion:

Put 'Run agent' in the right click menu in the applications navigator.
So you can go to Database > Code > Agents > "Name of my agent to run", right-click and select 'Run agent' to start it right away.

This seems to be a more integrated way of doing this.

Idea:

Use Case: Samantha Daryn is a speaker for a conference. There are several calendar events as a speaker such as deadlines for submitting the presentation files and a special presenters-only meet and greet at the conference. The conference site has a link where we can subscribe to these events. When she clicks on it, her Lotus Notes client launches presents her with the "Add a Calendar" dialog box. Samantha accepts the defaults and just clicks "Ok". The events are automatically added to her calendar, and are automatically updated if they change.

Implementation: There is already a "webcal://" URI protocol in use on the web. Lotus Notes just needs to register itself as a recipient, which should open the user's calendar and bring up the dialog box to add a calendar with the URL correctly filled in.

Idea:

A quick glace through wiki pages containing example code (example) proves a systemic usability problem.

The wikis should recognize code (through a code tag? through any <pre> tag where the contents start with a less-than character?) and automatically convert/highlight the code.

Syntax highlighters are usually done via JavaScript. Here's one example: SyntaxHighlighter. Note how it colors the code, gives line numbers, and when you mouse over the code the upper-right corner affords the ability to copy to the clipboard, print, or view the code as naked text.
