Let us export and import to MS-Excel (*.xls) format.
(Many people don't know what a "Tabular-Text" or „Comma-Separated-File“ is.)
And while you are at it:
I want exactly what I can do in Google Maps for Notes, Symphony, Firefox, i.e., any application that has a moveable screen. O.k. what am I saying? If you go to Google Maps, and search for a location, when that location becomes available the cursor becomes a hand. That hand ...
when I perform a search on a view via he 'Search this view' option my Notes client is frozen for a dozen of secons, depending on the size of the view.
I would rather like to be able to work with other tabs in the mean time.
Ability to view your tab'd aplications within your Notes client on separate screens.
This would be particularly useful for integrated apps like Symphony with its doc and spreadsheet tools.
Essentially allowing you to view both apps on a single (or dual) screen without having to flip back and forth between ...
Many views allow the user to resort them by some column. Such a resort-setting is "remembered" even when the user leaves and reopens the database or even restart his notes-client. Even that this functionality is nice for mail-views in many other applications it causes many support-calls by inexperient users.
Maybe , when a flat Notes view could have an auto filter function just like in spreadsheet programs than it would be less necessary to create export functions for Notes Views.
@setviewinfo just filters the first column.
I want to be able to select some or all of the text in a view row and copy it to the clipboard, then paste it somewhere as text.
Right now, click-and-drag grabs the entire view entry for dragging to a folder. Obviously, I don't want to lose that ...
When a view gets dirtied during a scroll-up, the navigation sequence (pgUp, pgDn) flies to the top or bottom of the view collection. I'd like it if something could be done to address that issue.
Something like that's also happening, apparently much more often, to NotesViewCategory objects. The view ...
Just as you can do in Excel, double click the column edge to adjust its length to fit the content.
I've searched and found no similar ideas. Sorry if it has existed.
Users inadvertently clicking the View Unread button, then claiming their e-mail disappeared could be avoided by a simple message box. "Are you sure you only want to view unread e-mails? Read messages will not be displayed" or something to that effect.
do you like to open the menu to find this action?
Most databases used categorized views. In my opinion they are one of the best features of Notes.Another great feature is the full text search. Sadly when you use these together, the view no longer shows the categories. (unless you choose to "Show all documents (Sortable)" That is to bad since ...
When using a database in a notes client I frequently find myself wanting to collapse all categories except the one I am browsing. Unfortunately this is a pain -- the easiest way to do this is to click the 'collapse all' button, then re-expand the category I was previously viewing. ...
I want to be able to specify alternate text based on code for an icon displayed in a view column. Similar to the alt attribute of <img>. I'm imagining something like the way the foreground/background color is specified such as:
Ok so what we're looking for here is a product of a discussion with the more Windows centric folks at a customer site.
The belief is that it is a MS standard UI guideline that a group of selected items, once an action is taken on them, the selected ...
It would be really cool if a button could be added under the message shown in a view, see attachment, when it is going to take some time to refresh/rebuild and allow you to see the documents that would send you a simple message like below.
Subject: View 'A' ...
The Notes client never completely collapses a Notes view that displays a document-response hierarchy. Even if you enable the If the Collapse all when database is first opened and Go to top row properties, Notes will collapse everything else in the view *** EXCEPT *** the thread containing the last ...
In mail template versions previous to version 8.x, a user could select a calendar view option to "Start monthly view with current week." In version 8.x templates this is missing and you can only view the current calendar month rather than the next four weeks.
Just about everywhere I go these is some variation on a view of groups categorised by members
Having one by default would at least mean that code we use to address this view (e.g.. a lookup to find all groups a person is in) would be consistent
For a better overview (if you have a lot of resources in different sites (locations)) it would be helpful for users if they would have an additional reservation view which is sorted / categorized by site.
