Preferences - Basic Notes Client Configuration - Additional Options list.  It is a major pain to find any particular option in this list.  Even worse when you try to guide a user to find an option.  There are 43 items in this list as of Notes 8.5.2.  The list should be numbered so each preference can be referenced by number making them easier to find.
Also see the linked idea about context-sensitive help so users can get help on these options.

or sort it by name
2) Bill Malchisky12192 (11 Sep 2010)
Yes, numbering over re-sorting--which would cause me to demote. But with the longer list, I can see a benefit for prefacing an option with numbers for new users and those less familiar with the layout. But not a huge issue from my perspective.

I am in favor of these options are divided into groups, such as options for dialogue...
Option "Enable persistent breakpoints in LotusScript debugger" could be moved at all in the Domino Designer's option, as a ordinary user does not need them. And so on.

Additional sections might even be created under Basic Notes Client Configuration section. There are several good possibilities for the actual implementation, but what matters is that this long list of features be made easier to navigate.

Yes. Many people, even programmers who prefer not to enter into this sheet settings..

Adding numbers to the list is just a band-aid on a bad UI.

Then we agree the current organization is flawed. By your response you must have a better idea. Please share it with us.

btw, the website URL listed in your profile is invalid. I tried to report the broken link, but there is no obvious way to do this. Ironically, your idea: { Link } is marked as complete.

Fixed the link. Thanks. And you've already stated my better idea: additional sections. I'm not a UI designer, so trust me you don't want any further detail from me. But anything is better than a scrolling checkbox!
