Each year the Belgium Java User Group runs an excelent conference in Antwerp. Even better 5 or 6 years ago they have started to publish a lot of the presentations as videos on this website: www.parleys.com/display/PARLEYS/Home . With the time, the website turned into a focal point for other european conferences for sending their recorded presentations. I find this site very usefull to keep up with newer developments.
Couldn't Lotus do something similar with Lotussphere? IBM would loose some money, but I doubt if that would harm much Lotussphere attendence, as for a lot of people it seems to be also an important social and face-to-face business contact event.
It would be very usefull to spread new informations about new products, best practices, etc. across the community and also to attract fresh talent to dig a bit deeper into those Lotus things.
